Mission Statement: The Arkansas Asphalt Pavement Association has created the “Emerging Leaders Division” in an effort to strengthen our industry, member organizations and our association by developing a structure organized path, consisting of identifying, educating, developing and providing individuals opportunities to prepare themselves for future leadership within their careers, organizations and our association.

Vice-Chairman: Brock Mathis, Blackstone Construction

Members of the Emerging Leaders Division must be part of a company that is an AAPA member. If you are interested in joining the Emerging Leaders Division and receiving our email communications, please contact the AAPA office at office@arasphalt.com.

Duties of the Chairman:

The Chairman of the Emerging Leaders shall preside at all EL meetings/events. The Chairman will represent the EL at Board of Directors meetings, where he/she will have an opportunity to vote on issues facing the Association. The Chairman will work in coordination with the Vice-Chairman & Executive Director in four annual events: two that have already been established and two that will be developed by the Chairman. The annual events will be held quarterly:

1st Quarter – AAPA Convention

2nd Quarter – Discretion of Chairman*

3rd Quarter – Discretion of Chairman*

4th Quarter – AAPA Annual BBQ Cook-Off

*The Chairman’s planned events should be a blend of education of the Arkansas Asphalt industry as well as an opportunity for EL members to network and build comradery.

Duties of the Vice-Chairman:

The Vice-Chairman will assist the Chairman in planning/execution of quarterly events, recruiting new members, and being an advocate for the Association. The Vice-Chair will fill in for the Chairman whenever he/she is unavailable. The Vice-Chairman will be promoted to Chairman at the conclusion of the previous Chairman’s term.
